Turning Vision Into Reality

Wasatch Dreamscapes

Wasatch Dreamscapes came to me as a newly owned landscaping and hardscaping business with big ambitions and a brand that didn't reflect them. The previous identity did the bare minimum — small jobs, small clients, no real positioning. Corey wanted to attract premium projects and serious clients. That required more than a logo refresh. It required a complete repositioning of who Wasatch was and who it was built to serve.

Problem

Under previous ownership, Wasatch Dreamscapes had a generic brand presence that blended into a crowded market of landscaping companies. The visual identity was unremarkable, the messaging was unclear, and nothing communicated the premium hardscaping capabilities Corey and his team actually possessed. As the new owner, Corey needed a brand that could immediately signal credibility, attract higher-value clients, and support the business he was building — not the one that existed before.

Challenge

The initial ask was simple — a logo. But it quickly became clear that a logo alone wouldn't solve the positioning problem. The real challenge was helping Corey define who Wasatch Dreamscapes was for, what made it different, and how to communicate premium quality in a market full of generic green-and-brown landscaping marks. Early concepts leaned toward predictable industry motifs — rolling hills, grass, plants. I pushed back. Through competitive analysis and strategic conversation, we identified an unexpected direction — a hummingbird mark that was simultaneously tied to nature, beauty, and the life that great landscaping creates. The challenge was convincing Corey that his instinct toward something different was exactly right.

Solution

I expanded the scope from a single logo to a complete visual identity system. The hummingbird brand mark was developed to feel premium and distinctive — unlike anything else in the local landscaping market. A full color palette, typography system, and visual identity board were developed to give Corey a foundation to build on. I guided decisions around color theory, logo application, and brand consistency — delivering something close to brand guidelines without the full guide price tag. I also helped Corey simplify his messaging, pulling back "Your Vision, Our Reality" from overuse so the brand could speak more clearly and let the work do the talking. The result is an identity that positions Wasatch Dreamscapes as the premium choice before a single conversation happens.
